Where can I buy Halco lures?
How do I choose the right lure size and colour?
Choosing the right lure size and colour depends on the species you're targeting, the fishing conditions, and your preferred technique. As a general rule:
Lure Size: Match the size of the lure to the baitfish in the area. Larger lures are best for big predators like tuna and mackerel, whilst smaller lures are suited to smaller species like bluefish.
Lure Colour: Bright colours work well in murky water or low light, while natural colours are ideal for clear water conditions.
Are Halco lures suitable for saltwater and freshwater?
Yes! Halco lures are designed to perform in both saltwater and freshwater environments. Halco offers a wide range of lures suited for all conditions. Our lures are durable and built to withstand harsh saltwater environments, but they also perform exceptionally well in freshwater, targeting a variety of species.
What type of hooks do Halco lures come with?
At Halco we hand pick the best hook for each lure based on performance, durability and affordability. You can be assured that the hooks that come on every Halco are suitable for 90% of applications. If you are an angler operating at that extreme level, for example massive Giant Trevally or Dogtooth tuna, then it’s probably a good idea to upgrade to heavier hooks, just like a 4WD and its tyres. Different styles of lures require different types of hooks, and we use a combination of trebles, singles and assist hooks across the BKK, VMC and Mustad ranges.
